He’s at it again with another great trance mix. From start to finish this is a solid mix. It starts off with a great slow track and quickly turns up the pace. Give it a listen and if you’re a member of that site you might want to think about adding him as a fan or something. He’s constantly updating his page with tons of great sets. Also, if your not always in the mood for trance, he’s got other great non “trance” mixes up as well. I wish I had a track list. I’ll update if one gets posted.

My good friend DJ W.O.R.D. released another trance mix the other day and it’s fantastic. Fortunately for me he updates more than I do heh. I’m currently 50% done with volume 9 and hope to get it up soon. Since volume 9 is going to be late, I’m going to work double time to get 10 out in June as well. In the mean time please hit the link below to listen to an awesome trance set mixed by DJ W.O.R.D.

Public Tranceportation pres. Voyageur Radio ft. W.O.R.D. – In the Mix
A few days ago my good friend DJ W.O.R.D. played at an event with a pretty rock’n set hitting all the right sweet spots of pop music. It’s definitely electronic, but not necessarily trance. Not that that’s a bad thing mind you. The set sounds great and if you’re wanting to hear something a little different, I would highly suggest giving it a listen. It’s an audio stream from his podcast page. Currently I’m finishing up volume 08 and it should be out soon. I admit that I set too ambitious of a goal last month, but I am trying really hard to get on a more regular release schedule.

Wow what a year so far. I don’t know about the rest of you, but right now I’m having some high hopes for the 2010 music releases. There is so much good music coming out it’s hard to keep up as a bedroom dj. That’s why I wanted to showcase some new tracks as well as some others that I’ve been holding on to for far too long. I’m also working on getting a once a month release schedule going. Right now I want to shoot for the second Monday of each month. If you’re thinking that the next volume is coming out the 8th of March then you are correct. Well that is, you MIGHT be correct. Another new addition to public tranceportation is the classic track. I’ve been playing some of my favorite classics the last few volumes and I think it’s time to make it a permanent addition to the set list. Everyone loves the classic tracks and it’s always a thrill to hear a song you haven’t heard in ages.
I’ve mentioned it on my twitter and facebook pages, but I want to put in words here. You may have noticed the banner on the side for itunes and yes public tranceportation is now on itunes. So if you prefer to get your trance fix that way, be sure to subscribe. You can click on the banner or here to get to the public tranceportation itunes podcast, page. I have also set up facebook and twitter accounts specifically for public tranceportation. This way you can get updates for upcoming mixes and news without having all my personal posts cluttering everything up. But feel free to follow me as well if you like =)
I would have to say that my personal favorite for this volume is Matt Darey’s (Urban Astronauts) see the sun. The Aurosonic remix is just to die for. I know just about every dj has this in their line up, but whatever, it’s really that good. My classic pick this month is one that will always be dear to my heart, Gouryella’s Ligaya in the Hiver and Hammer remix. Back in the day I would always request that my friends play this in the clubs. There’s just something about the funky beats and the symphonic strings that get me every time. I hope you all enjoy this volume as much as I do and I hope to finally get on schedule and release volume 8 in the next couple of weeks. Happy trancing!

dj phoenix presents public tranceportation vol. 06
This was the toughest mix I’ve had to put together in a long time. Not that the actual producing of it was hard, but for the life of me I could not make up my mind of which tracks to play in the set. It’s been a long three months since I last posted a mix and I continued to pick up new music here and there. When I went to put together a mix I simply could not nail down what tracks to play. Yesterday I was going through old recordings and I had two or three different mixes labeled volume 6, haha.
I always feel bad when I have great tracks that sit around and never get used. I tried to stay a bit more current with this mix as well as using tracks I’ve wanted to play for quite some time. I noticed last night that a lot of the artists in this set have been around for quite some time and it really got me thinking about how much Trance has evolved over the years. I remember the styles of these artists from ten years ago and to hear what they’re putting out now is just so different, but at the same time it all makes sense with how Trance has evolved as a music genre.
My personal favorite for this mix is DT8′s “Ride the Wave“. I love the use of the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas samples as well as the funky beat that (at least to my knowledge) is completely different from his usual style. I feel that this mix is a great trip down memory lane with familiar names (and a remake/remix!!) of artists that I highly respect and have been a fan of for years.
