WHOA!! Where the hell did 2012 go?? I was so caught up in my work and personal life that I wasn’t really able to focus and spend time with my hobby and passion that I have for Trance music and DJing. I’ve been hard at work (off and on) for the past few months on my “Top 20″ of 2012 mix. I’m saying “Top 20″ because, well it’s not really my “top” 20 as there are just too many amazing songs to cram into a 2 hour mix (that’s right…2 whole hours and I’m not even 100% sure right now that I won’t go over 20 Tracks lol.
So I figured that since it’s going to be about another week until I get this mix finished up that I should, at the very least, put something new out in the meantime So without further ado, here’s a mix I started working on last year with the ASOT 550 festivities and never ended up finishing. A while back ago, my good friend Arkhatron told me about his newest Lady Gaga remix. I meant to post this after I listened to it, but did not for reasons unknown to me. It’s a great remix and I’m glad to see the support from the listeners on youtube. Life’s been a bit crazy for the past (almost) year and I’ve neglected this site for far too long.
I’m currently loving every second of A State of Trance 550 and have been so recharged by the parties that I’ve dusted off my DJ equipment and am currently working on a new setlist. I’ll be celebrating one of my best friend’s birthday this weekend out on the good ol’ Oregon coast (IE Overcast, windy and rainy beaches =), so I won’t be able to work on it this weekend. I’m hoping that when I get back I’ll be able to squeeze in some time to finish it up. So until then, enjoy…
A couple of days ago my good friend Arkhatron sent me a remix he did of Lady Gaga’s Bloody Mary. Now, I’ll have to admit I have yet to hear the original version of this song, but I do like what he did here. I’ve stumbled upon another DJ in my Twitter mits. I have to say that I’ve been extremely pleased by the people that follow me on twitter. So far they’ve all been the stand up individuals that I could hope for. The latest person I’ve contacted for a guest mix is QuantaDJ. I really like his mixes and I can’t help but notice that we also have a common taste in music. He manages to play a lot of songs that I really like, but somehow never seem to play them myself. So, it’s quite refreshing to hear those songs I like so much blended so skillfully in an enjoyable hour to an hour and a half of musical goodness.

Part II – REBIRTH (Due out on June 10th): We look behind at the transformation that took place, but once we understand that we’re changing for good the chaotic sounds opens the way to more uplifting and optimistic tracks, with a completely positive angle that should leave the listener with happy and euphoric feeling of what the future holds for us.
I was trying to hold the 10th volume of public tranceportation for a special project I’ve been working on for far too long, but ultimately I could think of no better reason to start it up again than with the release of my best friend’s new track; officially signed and everything =) Which, funny enough, the extended mix was not the version that was released. You can pick the track up on Beatport.com in the original mix form factor.
Originally this mix was to supposed to be a guest mix for Dj Coleman, but work life took over again and this mix took waaaay too long to get released. So Coleman if you’re reading I’m brewing up a new set if you still want a guest mix =) Anyways, enough of stuff that most people don’t read anyways. Oh and I was feeling a little funky on the day I recorded this and did something a little different at the end. Hope you enjoy it!!

My good friend DJ W.O.R.D. just posted his very first minimal mix to his podcast site over at mevio.com. I had a little bit of time out on the road today to catch it all. I’ll have to admit that I don’t pay very much attention to the minimal genre, but I do know good music when I hear it and I can safely say this is good music. Whether you’ve had a stressful day or just unwinding after a hard day’s work, this mix can help. With a little bit of funk, trance, ambiance and a rather soulful surprise at the end; This mix is sure to please. Over the weekend I got a very nice surprise in my inbox. This is DJ Peaceful’s latest offering on his array of DJ sites. I really wanted to share this because I really do like to listen to breakbeat from time to time. I think it’s nice to stray from the usual every now and then. I know from experience that not all DJs are created equally and when you start getting into realms offering something other than four on the floor, this is where boys are separated from the men. Well maybe not that dramatic, but I do think it takes more to work with something other than four beats and I applaud those who do it well. Make sure you check his site(s) often as he updates way more than I do =)
