It’s snowing like crazy here in the NorthWest. For as long as I’ve been alive I can only remember (maybe) one other time it had actually snowed in any sort of manner around Christmas time. I was so young at the time, I can’t honestly remember if that snow had lasted or if it some of our traditional afternoon meltaway snow. Not this week. It started snowing Friday and hasn’t really let up. Of course mother nature did decide to switch it up a bit and throw some freezing rain at us instead, but that didn’t last long. Any ice right now is buried under about a foot of snow and as I’m typing this it has just started to snow like crazy. This will be one of the few times we NWers actually get a white Christmas; I couldn’t be happier.
One of the biggest problems now is how to get to friends and family. We get a lot of rain in the NW, but not really a lot of snow. So this means that people drive in it as least as possible. It’s been kinda fun the past coulpe of days of being stuck indoors, but now cabin fever is starting to take hold and I’m feeling that need to get out and talk with other people.
I finally decided that today would be a perfect day to get the website updated to the newest version of wordpress. I’m really liking the new control panel. I just gotta poke around it and see where they moved everthing.
I’ve still been having some hardware issues with my computer. Got a new harddrive on the way. That should help a lot with the issues I’m seeing. The biggest pain is that I’m not 100% sure what is actually causing the issues. I know I’ve punished my harddrives quite a bit and after 4-5 years use, sure it’s quiting time; I can give them that. The other possibility is that my raid card (that I had to use because my harddrives aren’t sata2 and for some reason my onboard controllers won’t see) is right next to my video card and I think the heat is causing a lot of issues as well. Either way, I’ll be fully up and running again later this week.
I’ve been dying to get something recorded. I never intended for content to be added once a year, but looks like I’m about to pull that one off =P. I’m going to try and get more mixes up in 2009. The nice thing about having my harddrive issues is that I’m still amassing a bigger and better song collection and since most of it is new I don’t feel like I’ve overplayed the songs. Now my biggest problem is, what to play?
